In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, I started a serial writing project that took place in the imaginary world I built long ago, Azuaveria. It also represented some of the most off-the-cuff writing I’ve ever done in my life.

While it was really fun to Hulk-smash through writer’s block, I also learned that I’m truly a Planner at heart and not a Pantser (“writing by the seat of your pants”). My experience with Vignettes from Azuaveria proved to me that, in order to make the kind of impact that I want to make with my writing, I need to plan extensively.
